Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The London Marathon is something I’ve had on my goal list for many years; having seen lots of my friends and family complete this amazing event.
For those that know me, know I’m really into my sport and exercise (mostly netball) but long distance running is not my thing...I love a good 10k and have completed a few half marathons. However, 26 n something miles is quite something. I take my hat off to anyone who works hard and trains for these distances on a regular basis! It’s quite amazing.
I’ve been training since Jan, which has been tough around my work and busy family life....long runs at the weekend with the crazy weather at times has bought tears to my eyes!
But, I’m a positive person and belief strongly in setting stretching goals and pushing yourself to achieve BIG things. Yes; I work in Learning & Development so I quote this stuff alot!
Having gotten over the “oh no” moment when the ballot place was offered to me...I’ve been focusing as much as I can to try and achieve my goal. I know this will be tough and I envisage a mixture of running, jogging and walking to get round- given I haven’t quite got to the mile distance I would have liked to in one stint.
However, I know that with the support of my family and friends and being able to run for such a brilliant local charity will get me over the line. Keech are just incredible and I was keen to ‘go local,’ also knowing people who have accessed their support and services and have said how amazing it was- usually at a time in their life when things were unbelievably hard.
Please support me and the charity in any way you can..it is very much appreciated.
Thank you, Emma
