Story
I am raising money for the headlight project by doing a skydive in memory of my auntie who I tragically lost in 2020 to suicide. This was one of the most traumatic and heartbreaking experiences I believe I will encounter throughout my life. Therefore I want to be able to raise awareness on the topic of suicide and help others who are suffering and/or grieving.
Founded in memory of Russ Devereux, the Headlight Project aims to reduce the number of deaths by suicide in the Teesside area, which has one of the highest regional rates in the country. They aim to achieve this by providing therapeutic support to families who have suffered a traumatic bereavement, as they are higher risk to die by suicide themselves. They deliver workshops in schools to talk around the subject and suicide awareness and prevention training to local organisations and workplaces.
