Story
💙 In Loving Memory of Sue Walker 💙
💙 This November, I’m taking part in Swimming the Distance to support people affected by lung cancer during Lung Cancer Awareness Month.
💙Every stroke I swim will help fund vital support services, from nurse helplines to patient information and support groups — things that make a real difference to families facing this disease.
💙I’ll be taking on this challenge in memory of Sue Walker, as we approach the second anniversary of her passing after her brave battle with lung cancer.

💙Sue’s daughter, Ange, has been my best friend since we were 11 years old, and over the years, Sue became like a second mum to me. Losing her on 22nd November 2023 was heartbreaking, and not a day goes by that she isn’t missed.
💙To honour Sue’s memory, I’ll be swimming 322 lengths (5 miles) at my local gym pool, finishing this challenge on the anniversary of her passing. This is my way of remembering Sue, celebrating her strength, and showing love and support for Ange and her family.
⚠️Update: I managed to complete the initial 5-mile target before 22nd November, so I’ve set a new goal of 8 miles to finish on Sue’s anniversary, and I’ll keep going through the month to hopefully reach 10 miles by the 30th.
💙I’d be so grateful if you could support my challenge with a donation, no matter the size. Every pound brings us closer to helping someone living with lung cancer feel less alone, more supported, and cared for.
Thank you for helping me make every moment in the water count.
💙 Forever in our hearts, Sue 💙
