I am running the Barcelona marathon on March 19th for PAPYRUS.

PAPYRUS is the national Charity for the Prevention of Young Suicide. Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under the age of 35 in the UK, in 2018 over 1800 young people took their own lives. PAPYRUS provides confidential support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide, and anyone worried about a young person through their helpline, HOPELINEUK. 

I've been inspired to raise funds and awareness for this charity in memory of my uncle, who I was never fortunate enough to meet. Sid unexpectedly took his life in 1995. I wish he had access to the support PAPYRUS provides. 

Further I believe the support provided is under-utilised by young people. Everyone has problems that can seem insurmountable and not everyone feels they can share those problems with their nearest and dearest. Hence, helplines are vital for all to know about. I want to make sure all young people are aware of the resources that can help them look after themselves and PAPYRUS helps people every day.
