Dear family, friends, and colleagues, 

Many of you are already knowledgeable about the incredible work provided by Her Justice and their team of pro bono attorneys. I'm so grateful to have had your support at countless events over the past decade that were hosted by Her Justice including prior Red Parties, Stair Climbs and Benefits. Since we are not able to gather in person at this time, the Junior Advisory Board along with the Campaign Committee is working with Her Justice in launching the Shift the Power Campaign to advance economic justice for women living in poverty in New York City. Our goal is to raise $500,000 by December 31, 2020 and we are already over halfway there! 

We recognize that economic empowerment is a key factor in achieving gender equity, racial justice, and safety for survivors of intimate partner violence. Simply put, economic justice is about power. Her Justice is advancing economic justice by providing free, critical legal services to women living in poverty who rely on the civil justice system for basic freedoms: personal autonomy, financial independence, and the chance to live free from abuse.

When we reach our goal of $500,000, this will provide $4,000,000 of legal services to the clients of Her Justice free of charge. I'm challenging myself to walk 27 miles per week for the month of November representing the 27 years Her Justice has been providing free legal services to women living in poverty in NYC and I'll keep you updated on my progress.
