Story

Starting on 1st June 2020, the 999 challenge consists of 9 different personal challenges, 9 times (or minutes/ hours/ kilometres/ miles) for 9 consecutive days.

These challenges have been set individually by our Eastbourne and Crowborough Fire Cadets and Cadet Leaders. They are designed to push themselves but stay safe like so many of the people keeping our country going are having to do whilst we all fight against Covid 19.

The Fire Fighters Charity provide psychological and physical rehabilitation to the UK Fire Service community at three centres across England as well as recuperation breaks and various other types of social support. This year, the coronavirus pandemic has brought The Fire Fighters Charity's traditional fundraising to a halt, with the cancellation or postponement of countless events and challenges. We are hoping to raise a small amount of the £10m it takes to provide those services because we know that when we need the Fire Service, they are there for us, so we should be there for them too.
