Story
Hi,
For my sins, I have agreed to do the London to Hove 60 mile (100km) Charity Ride again this year - its on June 28th.....for those who aren't familiar its a cycle route that starts in Sussex and ends up on the Coast (about 6 hours later!) all in the aid of charity.
The ride is usually a pretty good day out - with one catch - there is a MONSTER of a hill called Devil's Dyke right toward the end. If you can help me reach my fundraising target of £1000 by Friday June 26th (4 weeks away), then it will be my personal goal to get up that darn incline without: 1) getting off and walking; 2) chucking a major tantrum; or 3) passing out. NB: both (1) and (2) happened last year - and (3) almost did!
This year I'm riding for one of the associated Charities - Cystic Fibrosis Trust. This charity is particularly close to my heart as 2009 is the 10-year anniversary of my friend Kellie Draper's death to CF. Cystic Fibrosis is the UK's most common life-threatening inherited disease. It is a disease that people are born with, and sadly, most people with CF only live to around 35. Research into gene therapy is continuing, but as yet, there is no cure. For more information, the website is: http://www.cftrust.org.uk/
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cystic Fibrosis Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thanks for your support, I really appreciate it - even though I will probably not be thanking you on the 28th June!
Esther
