This year Exploring Happiness is raising money for Action Aid. We chose Action Aid because they do some really fantastic work to improve the lives of the world's poorest women and girls. 

Last year, I completed three 5km pool swims within 24 hrs. I was pretty happy once I completed this challenge. That was until some friends started telling me "it would have been much more impressive if you had done this in open water, rather than a pool". Whilst I was fully aware that they were just trying to wind me up, their goading worked, and now I have signed myself up to the 2020 Open Water Swimathon. The max distance is one 5km for the Open Water (which I am v pleased about as three in 24 hours would have been horrendous). 

Usually these Swimathon's are completed on chosen weekend with lots of other swimmers. However, due to COVID-19 I will be swimming this alone on a date that I have chosen (26.09). I'll be sure to share the times of the swim on social media and provide updates on this page too. Any donations big or small are greatly appreciated. 

As an additional incentive, my place of work will match the first £350 raised, so with a target of £650 we should hopefully be able to raise a total of £1000 for Action Aid.
