Story
*COVID-19 update - New date 19th -23rd July 2021. In light of our last year's postponed ride and not being able to do it, we have made it our mission to make sure it goes ahead this year! We are back with a bang, and pledge to raise double the amount we originally set out to raise.
Many friends and family have been affected by cancer in recent years. Receiving a diagnosis of cancer is life changing and dealing with the physical and mental effects is a very daunting prospect, especially having to go through it alone. For this reason, we have decided to organise a charity bike ride in aid of Maggie's Charity. Maggie’s provides free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their family/friends. Built in the grounds of NHS cancer hospitals, Maggie’s Centres are places with professional staff on hand to offer the support people need. Our team of 18 cyclists will be taking on the challenge of riding from Porthcawl to Paris on the 10th August 2020. Majority of the team have never ridden road bikes before, so the prospect of riding on the road.. let alone 100 miles per day, is a daunting task ahead. The ride will take 5 days to complete, arriving in Paris on 14th August.
