Story

We’re colleagues at the Hyde Group who will be fasting to raise much-needed funding for victims of the war in Ukraine.

We are from a range of backgrounds and don't habitually fast, so this won’t be easy. During the Muslim holy month of Ramadan (which runs throughout April) we will be abstaining from food and water between dawn and dusk on one of the selected dates (Wed 13th, Thu 21st and Tue 26th April), with our thoughts focused on all those suffering at this very moment.

Our funds will be for the DEC providing life-saving services on the ground in Ukraine and in the border areas where refugees are in the most danger. Please share this donation link with your family or friends to let them know the sacrifice our colleagues have chosen to make in order to help innocent victims of war.

Fasting is a tough challenge this year, from around 5am until 8pm, but we’re fully aware this is absolutely nothing in comparison to genuine refugees fearing for their lives.

In the biggest refugee crisis to hit Europe since WW2, around 3 million vulnerable people have fled Ukraine – half of them being children along with many women and elderly. Deeply traumatised and under freezing conditions, many lack some of the very basic necessities; food and water.

Please donate generously thank you.
