There is no way to talk around this- our communities are in crisis. We need your help RIGHT NOW to fight the widespread problem of starvation within the communities we serve. We need your help! $25 feeds a family of 5 for a week.

Story

Floating Doctors needs your help RIGHT NOW to fight the widespread problem of starvation within our region.

The majority of FD patients live in extreme poverty- less than $2.50 per day. They have no financial reserves. Those who had work on plantations in other parts of the country and in Costa Rica are now unemployed due to COVID-19 restrictions, and any government support either hasn't reached them or simply isn't enough. Food grown within the communities, while more nutrient-dense than the rice, bean, and flour staples that make up the bulk of many diets, are simply not enough to meet the caloric needs. Our patients are eating only every few days, nursing mothers are at high risk of losing their supply, infants are at risk of wasting, and an entire generation is at high risk of lifelong chronic disease resulting from poor nutrition.

Your gift of $25 TODAY will provide food and cooking supplies to feed a family of 5 for a week. Please give- it's truly a matter of life! I have committed $500- will you help me raise another $500?
