Royal Parks Half Marathon 2021 · 10 October 2021 ·

Team Refuge runners will be running the 2021 Royal Parks Half Marathon to raise funds for the UK's leading charity for survivors of domestic, sexual and gender-based abuse.

Story

I will be running the virtual 2021 Royal Parks Half Marathon for Refuge in April.

This will be my first ever running event, as I decided I wanted to do something different for my birthday this year (2 days before!). All work by charities, authorities, and social enterprises in the protection of women and children is very close to my heart. So many women and children have been trapped with their abusers during the pandemic, and with the UN's recent statistics shared in the news revealing the extent to which women are subjected to violence, harassment and abuse on a daily basis - it's all very real and  sadly much more prevalent than many people realise.

Refuge believes that no-one should have to live in fear of violence and abuse. On any given day Refuge supports more than 6,500 clients, helping them rebuild their lives and overcome many different forms of violence and abuse. Any donation you give will be hugely appreciated.
