EVEREST BASE CAMP TREK 2008
in support of FUTURE FOR NEPAL
This page is dedicated to raising money for the charity Future for Nepal. The charity is fantastic, supporting education and social welfare of children accross Nepal (www.futurefornepal.com) The charity has a great track record, successfully collaborated with the University of Durham, Oxford and several other fundraisers in the past.
I am part of a 20 member team organised by Durham University Charities Committee (duck.dsu.org.uk) determined to raise well in excess of 20,000 pounds for this amazing charity by summer 2008!
We are organising various events and rag raids around the country to raise funds and awareness for the valuable work of FFN. In addition we will also be helping the charity do its work directly by going out to teach in FFN funded schools across Nepal next summer, followed by a challenging trek up and down Everest Base Camp.
All the money raised via this site will be automatically forwarded to FFN. The money goes directly towards sponsoring children's school fees and 5 large community projects, including HIV awareness and street children support programmes. It is estimated that 500 children will benefit directly from these projects, with thousands of families benefitting indirectly.
10-15 pounds a month is all it costs a child to go to school, and yet it's an opportunity that at least 20% of young Nepali children never have (UNESCO statistics 2005).
Please Help! Your donation will ensure that the charity can continue to make a difference to lives of hundreds of children.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Future For Nepal will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
A huge thank you for your generous support!!
