May 10k for St Luke's · 1 May 2020 to 31 May 2020 ·

By walking or running 10k in May you can help us fund a PORTABLE X-RAY for patients in isolation (due to Covid-19) at St Luke's Hospital, Rathgar. The cost of this new machine is 100,000 euro and is needed for seriously ill or palliative patients

Story

Working at St Luke’s for 25 years I am blown away with the dedication of my healthcare and essential worker colleagues. In this current pandemic each day they face enormous challenges with a smile our patients !

I decided to take part in this challenge to help out necessary funding - If you can sponsor me I would be delighted. I am walking 100k over the month of May - those who know me know that walking has never been a thrill for me but I’m getting used to it now.

During this Covid-19 crisis, patients at St Luke's Hospital, Rathgar who are in isolation cannot be moved from their wards for X-Ray's or Scans - therefore it was decided a much needed PORTABLE X-RAY was required for vulnerable patients.

The cost of this machine is 100,000 euro. The radiographer team can go to the wards and take the necessary digital images without moving patients.

This equipment will have a huge benefit to patient safety in the current crisis.
