Story

Hello my name is Florence and in August we are cycling the full length of Birmingham, on the canal. This is a total of 16 miles from Minworth to Solihull, which we will do in a single day. We are going to do it to raise money for the Ashgate Hospice in honour of Jeanette Haigh, my grandma , who unfortunately died of cancer on the 10 June 2021. She was very happy at Ashgate and she mentioned more than once how lovely it was and how it felt more like a home than a hospital.

On our bike ride we will be taking Sheara. She is a toy sheep that my grandma loved. She will be wearing a woolly hat- this was especially made by my grandma before she passed away. Follow our journey as we bike the full length of the country’s second largest city. We will take photos along the way to prove we did it and earned the fundraising!

Hello I am Sam, Florence's younger brother, and will be doing the bike ride too. This is for our beautiful grandma, who staid at Ashgate Hospice, which I heard had jacuzzi baths! Grandma got allot of care and we saw her every weekend. Every time she had a big smile on her face. So we want to not only raise money but also raise smiles!
*watch out to see Sheara hiding in the photos while on the ride.
