Story

Hello, We are a group of Swansea medical students who are part of the GEM run team. We usually aim to meet twice a week to explore the local trails in Swansea. However, due to the current restrictions we are obviously unable to do so currently. As a result we have decided to encourage everyone to get out and run during these difficult times and also raise money for some brilliant causes. Our Med soc charity this year is the Welsh Air ambulance who Provide a free, life saving helicopter emergency medical service for the critically ill and injured in Wales, vital for the coast and mountains. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/emily-jenkinson6 - to donate to the Wales Air ambulance Also due to the current pandemic we thought it vital to support Mind as well who are a nationwide charity that support individuals with their mental health- which due to the pandemic is all the more important! https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/emily-jenkinson5 - to donate to Mind To do our little bit and encourage as many of us to get out from behind zoom and exercise during lockdown we have deiced to try to run 2021 in 4 weeks over the weeks 25/01/2021- 21/02/2021. The Team includes 16 Students and a number of staff from the medical school who will be helping us reach our goal when they are not busy at work- by walking or running a few KMs over the next month starting from 25/01/2021- 21/02/2021
