I’m fundraising for Tommy’s who provide support to those people who have experienced the tragedy of stillbirth, miscarriage and premature birth.

Fortunately, I have never experienced the premature loss of a baby but I have witnessed very close friends go through the trauma of countless miscarriages. It's so important that others in this position can seek out the support they need to help them through an undoubtedly heart-breaking experience. Why should you sponsor me?

I have been running for some time now  and the journey hasn't been easy. I started to help me shift some weight and I am now just over 8 stone lighter. Last year I ran the half marathon and never planned to run another one again. But as I sat in bed that night an email arrived asking me if I wanted to do it again but this time raise money for a charity called Tommy's. I didn't know anything about them so after a little bit of research I thought what a perfect way to honour my best friends James and Lisa who had struggled with miscarriages for over 5 years!

At least 1 in 4 women experience miscarriage in their reproductive lifetime and 1 in 100 women experience recurrent miscarriage.
