Story
This year I am tackling the Jurassic Coast Challenge 2nd quarter of 34km (21.2miles) in 7 hours. . It’s a walk close to my heart and holds a lot of memories of my son Matt(Hattie). I start at Corfe Castle, which was the last place we did Remembrance Day together and i will be travelling through Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door both my sons special places. The finish is Weymouth which I am suspecting will be my special place or at least for my feet lol. It hasn’t been easy training and I am keeping the arthritic knees well bandaged and the dodgy feet well caked with blister plasters and special insoles!!! The Lee Rigby Foundation is a charity close to my heart. They provide help and support for bereaved military families which is much needed by us all. The foundation is run by Lee’s parents Lyn and Ian who are amazing people who do so much while coping with their own loss of their beautiful son. I am so honoured to call them my friends and it is a honour to be able to do something to help raise funds for them. The day of the walk also coincides with the 8th anniversary of Lee losing his life. The loss of both Lee and Matt and all our other heroes will spur me on on the day. Please have a read about the charity and if you feel you would like to and can donate it would be very gratefully appreciated. Many thanks. Fran xx
