Story
We did it! We reached Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa, on Friday, October 30th at 6.45am.
Our trek lead us through beautiful sceneries from rain forests, via barren plains, to the snow on the top. While for most of the way, the trials and tribulations were limited to trying to stay clean and headache free, the last push to the top proved to be a real test, as high altitude kicked in and the freezing temperatures took their toll.
Knowing that you put your trust in me helped me very much on those last, very slow steps to the top, as I did not want to disappoint you and New Ways. The money we raised will be funding the Nariokotome Project, a mobile clinic for the region of Turkana, North West Kenya. The mobile clinic will be providing immunisation, ante/post natal care, health education and help for chronically ill patients with HIV/AIDS, TB, malaria, etc.
If you would like more information on New Ways initiatives to improve the lives of people in the Turkana region please email to info@newways.org.uk or visit their website at www.newways.org.uk
Thank you all for your incredible support - it made this trek a journey of a life time.

P.S. This website will be open for a couple of more weeks, so if you would like to donate, going through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: New Ways gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
