At the end of August I will be swimming the length of Pokhara lake, which is based in Nepal. I will not touch any land or boat during the swim, however I will have a support boat next to be incase of any emergencies.

I have decided to raise money for Travelteer impact. For the past 3 years I have been working for Travelteer to help support the projects in different locations in Asia. This year I have been working in Nepal. The money raised will be going to various projects that we run here:

Infrastructure- The funding for this programme will help build a kitchen in a local school which has a high number of students that live well below the poverty line. Due to this, lots of kids can’t afford breakfast or lunch and regularly pass out from a lack of energy. Travelteer are currently building a kitchen which will be able to feed the entire school and provide the funding for the food indefinitely.

Agriculture- We will be donating some of the fundraising towards plastic green houses for underdeveloped rural mountain villages. Money will also be directed to training the local community how to grow a higher yield of crop using the green houses to earn money to support there families.

Education- Here the funding will be spent on learning/teaching materials for rural mountain villages which don’t have access to a high level of education. We will be supporting the schools with English lessons, maths and ICT classes.

Travelteer Impact empowers under developed communities and their environments in Sri Lanka and Nepal. All the funds are raised by volunteers who participate in the volunteering programmes.
