I'm honoured to be an official Ambassador for Beating Bowel Cancer since 2013 - a wonderful charity who gave great support to my friend Hannah Berry who tragically died aged just 30. Bowel Cancer is the UK's second biggest cancer killer - yet if detected early enough, 90% of bowel cancer cases are treatable.  UK survival rates are lower than in many other European countries - for a nation obsessed with toilet humour, we are surprisingly reticent to keep on top of our bottoms!

As many of you know, I had a fair bit of back surgery in March 2017 and my return to health and fitness has been hugely important to me. Having not ridden a bike for 8 years I decided to start again in June 2017 when the opportunity arose to cycle coast-to-coast from Whitehaven to Tynemouth over some pretty scary hills this September!  Mad?  Moi?  Mais oui!
