Story

This year The Fire Fighters Charity turns 78 years old, and on our annual open day, as a crew we are celebrating it by collectively walking from the fire station to the top of Frodsham Hill and back 78 times in full fire kit and Breathing Apparatus.

The Fire Fighters Charity offers specialist lifelong support for members of the UK fire services community, empowering individuals to achieve mental, physical and social wellbeing throughout their lives. They provide independent, personalised support to thousands of people each year, and they’re not all firefighters. They exist to support all fire and rescue service personnel, whatever their role in the service. They're also here for all those who have retired, as well as for spouses and dependants.

Born out of the devastation of the Blitz to support the bereaved families of firefighters and evolving over the years to become the foremost health and wellbeing provider for members of the fire services community across the UK, they’re are celebrating their 78th anniversary throughout 2021.
