Story
Last June my beautiful friend Annabel Rook was horrifically murdered by her partner. On the same day that he was found guilty - 3rd June 2026 - Natalie McNally and her unborn baby's murderer - her boyfriend - was sentenced to 31 years.
This violence needs to stop.
Annabel had dedicated her life to helping others. Aside from the fact that she was pure joy, laughter, light and love to be around, she was a rock of goodness and wisdom to all her many friends and loving family, a beautiful mama to her two young boys and a beacon of hope and action for so many women who were victims of trafficking, domestic violence and sexual abuse - through her charity Mamasuze.org
This June, I will make my miles count by taking on the 100 Mile Challenge for Refuge. 1 in 4 women will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime, on any given day, Refuge supports thousands of women and their children rebuild their lives, free from fear. Just £52 could pay for one safe night in a refuge for a woman and her children fleeing an abuser. Every mile matters. Every pound counts. Will you support me in going the distance for Refuge?
