I started running in the spring of 2018 when my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer.  

Starting with the couch to 5 km app I found that running gave me time and space to process the situation we found ourselves faced with. 

I continued running throughout Heidi's treatment, building up to running 10 km then amazingly 20 km, and now she has finished treatment I find that running is still important to me, and still helps me. 

Heidi has signed up for the Stars Appeal 100 km walk to Petra and so to help her raise the funds I have signed up to run the Newport marathon. 

So I will have gone from a non-runner to running a marathon in 2 years - that's got to be worth sponsoring!
