In 2017, I had a heart attack whilst doing this bike ride to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation. You couldn't make it up. My Strava made me King of the Mountains with a top speed of 88mph but unfortunately in an ambulance and not on my bike. Different perspective on life now with a healthy diet and down to less than 10 pints a day. Doctors orders! I am now a heart expert with a double stent to prove it. What is obvious is the amount of charitable donation required to fund the BHF and subsequently save lives. Mine certainly and maybe yours one day so a few quid towards my efforts to actually finish on my bike this year would be appreciated.
