Story
Hi
So 5 year ago my beautiful Maggie was born partially sighted. It's been a hard journey for us but Maggie has never complained, she has coped and adapted to everything. I can't ever thank Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital for the care they have given Maggie, but maybe I can give a little something back with your help.
For anyone who hasn't had to visit GOSH it's an amazing place where you will meet real bravery that will put things in perspective. It's a hospital with world class care . I thank every one who has helped my Mags keep the sight she has. The money I raise will be going toward “ME1620 - Equipment to help doctors diagnose children with serious eye conditions (Retcam Optos equipment)”
Which means:
Two state-of-the-art imaging machines to help diagnose and monitor children with serious eye diseases such as Peters Anomoly, Sclerocornea, Mucopolysaccharidoses and genetic disorders of the cornea and anterior segment including Axenfeld-Rieger and PAX6 related disease. The new technology is highly flexible and will help more children in theatre, NICU, and all inpatient and outpatient wards receive the care they need.
And so... I'm running the marathon as part of the London fire brigade marathon team, you don't have to give much but all helps and counts. As the money goes directly to the eye unit this will mean a lot to myself and Maggie.
Thank you
