Story
In case you didn't know, my children attend Silverhill Primary School in Mickleover, I am the Vice-Chair of Governors and Caroline is the Chair of the PTFA thus I have somehow been persuaded into agreeing to take part in the Mickleover Fire Walk!
I would like to say that this is my idea, but it absolutely isn't! Nevertheless, I am apparently going to walk over 5 metres of hot coals!
(That is 16 feet, or 9 and half cubits, or 6 and 2 third paces, or 67(ish) palms, or 3 hundredths of a stade for the metrically challenged)
This is going to happen in public, in the centre of Mickleover, so feel free to come and watch if that floats your boat!
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is it going to hurt?
Firstly, thank you for the concern about my safety, it is greatly appreciated! Frankly I'm going with a plan of not thinking about it, but it will be really hot, so I imagine yes, it will hurt.
2. Will there be a video?
Do you really think that Caroline would let me do this without making a video? She is already talking about adding a backing track! Of course there'll be a video.
3. What does the PTFA do with the money?
All the money that the PTFA raises goes directly into the school. They work hard to ensure that the children of Silverhill's education is fun and engaging
