Story
As you know I am a volunteer boarder for Guide Dogs and I have decided to join the swim 100 challenge and I aim to swim 100 lengths in May to raise money for Guide Dogs because I know how important a Guide Dog is to someone who is living with sight loss.
Guide Dogs continues to support their dogs during their time working as a guide. This covers the cost of food, vets’ bills and ongoing training.
Total cost from birth to retirement is £56,800 so by me swimming 100 lengths and raising £100 (with your help I can hopefully raise more than my target) it will help towards the ongoing costs.
Thanks for all your support.
Almost two million people in the UK are living with sight loss that has a significant impact on their daily lives. Of those, around 180,000 rarely leave their homes alone and lead lonely, isolated lives. Guide Dogs works for a world where people with sight loss are never left out of life, for a world where being blind or partially sighted is not what defines you. A world with enough support to make the challenges of sight loss no barrier to fulfilling hopes and dreams.
