Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 25th June 2019, myself and Bruce Russell, are hosting a Charity Cricket Match at Fettes College in Edinburgh to raise money for FetLor, a terrific charity, set up back in 1924 through partnership of Fettes and Loretto, to support the children in the Edinburgh slums whose fathers fought alongside Old Fettesians and Old Lorettoians alike in the Great War.
Fast forward to today and FetLor has lost its government funding due to legislation being passed last year; therefore, it is in need of private donations to continue the pivotal work it has been doing for the youth of the local community of North Edinburgh for nearly a century.
Last year, I set up this charity cricket game, in aid of FetLor, with my former cricket coach, Bruce Russell, who has been most helpful in moving the project forwards. Furthermore, I have been seeking help on this project from friends and others who might have an interest in seeing it succeed.
Last Year, we had a team made up of Edinburgh Independent Schools, captained by Dylan Budge (current Scotland internationalist) with the other team being made up of 'Old Scotland Greats', u19 South African internationalist and current Scotland players. We also had Scotland's Head Cricket Coach, at the time, present at the game along with a large audience to help with raising a large amount of money which we aim to replicate and further in size this year.
The match will take place at Fettes College on 25th June 2019. Everyone will be most welcome to attend and we look forward to seeing you on the day.
Any donations will be really appreciated.
George Conner.
