Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We recently lost our wonderful dad due to a 'Pulmonary Embolism', he was just 54.
Dad wasn't feeling well for a few weeks before the night he passed, he had what he thought was a cold or possible chest infection, he also had swollen legs, which he'd had for some time. As a family we asked him to please go to the doctor!! Dad never wanted anybody to worry about him and he never really took any time off of work, so he ignored it and after a while said he thought he was feeling better,
He drove home from work on the 26th of March not feeling well again (same symptoms) with the intention of going to the doctor the next day, it was too late!!
I (his daughter Chloey) am writing this on behalf of his whole family. Georges Turner was a great friend to everyone, inspirational, selfless, kind hearted man, a true family man who idolised his 3 children and 3 grandchildren. I know there's no such thing as 'the perfect human being', but my dad came close... We are struggling to come to terms with losing him to something that could have been prevented,
What we've learnt since our dad's passing is that 25,000 people die each year from thrombosis-related disease, many of these people do go to the doctors with the signs and symptoms and still a DVT and Pulmonary Embolism go undiagnosed.
'Life Blood The Thrombosis Charity' touched us !!
Please take the time to check out the website, your donations will help to educate health professionals and raise awareness to the general public, it also helps to fund research looking at why and how a thrombosis occurs.
Your donations can literally save lives!!
Thank you very much for taking the time to read our story,
