Story

I am sure that many of you can't believe this is happening - I still can't! But somehow, after some intense negotiations, I have been coaxed into running a whole marathon. It is going to be a huge undertaking as I had only ever run 10k before starting training, but now with only 2 weeks to go I have clocked up hundreds of miles and I am almost starting to enjoy/tollerate it.

Rare Dementia Support is a cause very close to my heart. It is a vital part of the National Brain Appeal that provides specialist support for individuals living with, or affected by, one of five rare dementia diagnoses. Rare forms of dementia in particular affect younger peopleOver 40,000 people in the UK are living with dementia under the age of 65 and many experience atypical symptoms such as visual disturbances, problems speaking and understanding language, and behaviour and personality changes.

I have been lucky enough to see first hand the incredible work that RDS does and that is why I am willing to put myself through all the pain and hours of training. Every pound, therefore, is hugely appreciated!

Those of you who know how competitive I am will be surprised to learn that my only hope is to finish the race - that is how hard I truly expect it to be. So please dig deep and come and celebrate with me on the day.
