Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am fundraising for three reasons -
Last year, my cousin Chris passed away, aged just 42. He had served in Iraq, Bosnia, Northern Ireland and Mongolia to name just a few. He was a true hero in my eyes. I was devastated to lose him and decided to remember him in the best way possible - doing crazy things for fun!
10 years ago I suffered two detached retinas and lost my peripheral vision in my right eye - giving me a tiny insight into what sight loss could be like.
Combining my sight issue with Chris being in the Army gave me the idea to do everything for Blind Veterans - considering it is their 100th anniversary this year, it seemed really appropriate - they are an amazing charity who do so much work helping our servicemen and women resume a normal life after suffering sight loss.
So, I decided to commit myself to fundraising for 2015 and challenge myself out of my comfort zone. I'm no runner and I've only just bought my first ever bike, so these are certainly things I've never done before!!
The events I have signed up for are :
22nd March - Two Crosses 25 mile Challenge Hike
29th March - Cheshire Cat 50 mile Bike Ride
19th April - Spring Saddle 38 mile Bike Ride
26th April - Bolton 10km Run
10th May - Manchester 10km Run
