David was a proud man and as a merchant seaman and captain he liked order and to be in control of his own destiny.

 In November 2015 David was diagnosed with cancer and in March 2016 he was given 3 months to live. Sadly the cancer was in control .

St Richards Hospice became involved offering David and our family practical and emotional support. David had made it very clear that he wanted to die at home. The nurses and home care team supported his decision and made this possible.

On 29th September 2016 David died peacefully at home. David is missed daily but as a family we are comforted that he was in charge of how the last chapter ended and we are able to celebrate his 87 years of life.

Ginette's wing walk will hopefully raise money to help St Richards Hospice to offer other families the care and support they deserve and also to say thank you.
