I am grateful and honored to have been chosen to run the London Marathon on Team Herren Project. As an Ambassador for Team Herren Project, I am running to raise awareness of substance use disorders and help others receive the gift of recovery.
2021 will be my 10th year of sobriety from alcohol. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than to raise money for others to get the same opportunity that was given to me! I spent many years turning to alcohol instead of God to meet my needs. I began daily running while I was in treatment at Covenant Hills. There they encouraged me to make exercise part of my daily routine. Running became a sanctuary where I could clear my mind and begin to heal. When my life was at its darkest, running offered me peace and solitude. I ran my first half marathon in 2011. Now I want to help give back in my recovery. I want to help others find the solution I found.
All the funds I raise go directly to The Herren Project. THP is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded by former professional basketball player and recovery advocate, Chris Herren, to serve individuals and families impacted by substance use disorder and the disease of addiction throughout the United States.
Herren Project provides free resources and support for the treatment, recovery and prevention of substance use disorder to help individuals, families and communities live healthy, fulfilling lives free from effects of addiction to drugs and alcohol. Step by step, the Herren Project team is truly making a difference, one person, one family, one community at a time! For additional information please visit
