Staff from the Gloucestershire Brain Injury Team will be attempting to WALK a half marathon from Gloucester City Centre around Gloucester and back to the city centre on Sunday 1st November 2009 in aid of Headway Cotswold Trust. Funds raised will go towards helping Headway renovate their new building to help improve the lives of head injury survivors, their families and carers.

The Gloucestershire Brain Injury Team is a multidisciplinary therapy team based at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.  We offer in and out patient assessment and therapy for adults (16 years plus) who have had an acquired brain injury and who are resident in Gloucestershire.  The team offers intensive acute therapy immediately post injury, through to community rehabilitation and outpatient follow up, sometimes years after the brain injury.  We cover the spectrum from mild to severe brain injuries. 

As a team we work very closely with Headway Cotswold Trust who operate a number of services for survivors of head injury, their families and carers in Gloucestershire. These services include a day centre, advice and information, individual and group support for family members, social events and much more.
