Before I moved to the UK I was a youth worker in South Africa for 7
years and I have since worked in a voluntary capacity since living in the UK for a number of years.  I have always had a passion for children and
teenagers and carried a burden for their welfare.  This passion has been
an integral part of my life since my late teens.  

Since arrived in the UK I have dreamed of running the London
Marathon, to me this is the most iconic race in the calendar drawing the best athletes from around the world while running past the most photographed buildings and architecture that I grew up seeing on TV.  It has been a personal goal of mine to run this race and year after year have entered to ballot to no avail.  

I am fortunate to work for an incredible company, there are many
reasons for this but none as close to my heart as the passion Softcat has to work with charities.  First and foremost on the list of beneficiaries is Dreams Come True, a children’s charity, whose mission it is to enrich the lives of children and young people living with serious medical conditions.  

In the last 4 years Softcat has raised £1.25 million, made 500 dreams come true, run 9000 miles, drunk 8000 glasses of champagne, trekked in -23C and skydived 43,500 feet.

My dream has always been to run the London Marathon and better than
getting my name drawn out of a ballot I get to run my dream race while raising money to help other children’s dreams become a reality.  This is an honor and a privilege for me to be able to support these dreams and I invite you to join me in the joy of giving.

I have seen and experienced first-hand children growing up with nothing
to look forward to and without the means to change their destiny’s, the
hopelessness is heart-breaking, but a child with a dream can change the world and worth every penny invested in them.  Many children dream of something you take for granted, what you pay for on a whim like a new phone or a holiday is an unattainable dream for the children dreams come true support.
