Story
1 in 3 people born in the UK this year will develop dementia, a progressive brain disorder that slowly destroys memory and thinking skills.
I know so many people that have seen loved ones affected by this devastating disease and witnessed first hand the impact it has had on our own family.
On the 10th of August I will be hiking 13 miles with my wife and friends, across tough terrain, alongside the ancient Hadrian's Wall and through the surrounding area. I'm hoping the beauty of Northumberland will offset any pain encountered during the 4-5 hour hike. It will be a good challenge for our small team but one I'm confident we will all complete and hopefully raise a bucketful of donations in the process!
It really is a charity that deserves our support. Having witnessed first-hand the impact that dementia can have on individuals and the resultant strains and stresses it places on loved ones to help care for them, I hope that raising funds and awareness can help to combat/treat the disease in some small way.
Any donation you make truly is appreciated and really can help make a difference. With your support we will find new treatments and, ultimately, a cure for dementia.
