Our Urological CANcer charity, UCAN, is a unique urological cancer support centre based on Ward 209 at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, in North East Scotland. UCAN supports people diagnosed with testicular, prostate, kidney, bladder and penile cancer and their families throughout their diagnosis and treatment, and also raises awareness of the signs and symptoms of what could often be curable cancers if detected early. Among other things, UCAN has funded the very first robotic surgical system in Scotland, making state-of-the-art surgery (robot assisted prostate, bladder and kidney surgery) available to the people in North East Scotland for the first time in the country's history.
I started running just before last year's first lockdown. Soon I thought I should work towards a target, and what better one than the original, classic, authentic marathon route from Marathon to Athens in Greece?
1.5 year & three hamstring injuries later, I am still going strong, only 3 weeks away from my very first race and running for a cause: I hope you can help me raise money for UCAN.
Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page, an extremely efficient way to donate to UCAN.
