Like so many other rescues, we reached a new crisis point here at Hope Rescue last year. We are thrilled to have an army of #TeamHope runners in the much awaited return of the Cardiff Half Marathon

Story

I am running the Cardiff Half Marathon in March 2022 for Hope Rescue, and I am also running the Virtual Half Marathon in October 2021, so I would love your support for both events!

I only started running in 2020 and had a target of a non-stop 5K in mind, so running a half marathon is a huge challenge for me and I can't quite believe I'm doing it as my first race.

The virtual distance is also going to be a big challenge without other runners or a crowd to spur me on, but I want to do that as a 'baseline' so I can then aim for a decent time in the actual race in 2022.

I am delighted to be running for Hope Rescue who do such amazing work with dogs in need. The pandemic and lockdown has meant it's been particularly tough for animal charities, and Hope are always there to pick up the pieces when dogs are failed time and time again by humans - whether through abandonment, cruelty, irresponsible breeding or genuine hardship.

Your support would mean an awful lot.

Also, if you choose to donate, please feel free to nominate a song for my playlist for the virtual half event to help motivate me and remind me of the people who have supported me!
