At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

On 28 June we're going to be doing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks walk with some friends, and I'd like to raise some money for the Alzheimer's Society (in memory of my grandfather) whilst doing so.

Why should you sponsor me to take a walk in the country? Well, it's not any old walk. The Yorkshire 3 Peaks (Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough) are 694, 736 and 723 metres respectively, and the walk is 24.5 miles long. The aim is to do it within 12 hours. It might be a beautiful location, but it's not going to be easy, and if it rains it's going to be hell!

Danni Lamb and Heather Fotheringham (who has vertigo, so won't even enjoy the nice bits at the top!) are going to raise money for the same charity via this page, so you can sponsor them here. Cousin Tom is going to join me - if you want to donate to him too, http://www.justgiving.com/tom3peaksengland  is his page.

More details here: http://www.3peakswalks.co.uk/

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Alzheimer's Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support,

Hannah
