On Tuesday 27th November, at Ashgate Hospicecare I will be completing a sponsored 60km ride on a static bike in acknowledgement of the 60 gifts in Wills left to Ashgate Hospicecare so far this year. These everlasting gifts of kindness enable 1 in 5 of our patients to be cared for and without these gifts 20% of our patients wouldn't receive the care they need when they really do need it most.
My target is to raise £4,000, as this is the average gift in a Will left to Ashgate Hospicecare.
I wanted to complete this bike ride as a mark of respect to the people that have thought of the Hospice in this special way when making such an important document and whom can never be thanked in person. But I also wanted to spread awareness of just how much an everlasting gift, whether it is monetary or personal possessions and no matter what size, it really does make a difference.
Nuffield Health Chesterfield are very kindly supporting me with this fundraising venture, by not only lending me the bike on the day but also they will be giving one lucky person 1 years free membership, who will be chosen at random as a thank you for supporting my fundraising efforts!
