We are supporting Moorland Mousie in Mum's memory mainly because of two very important ponies in her life.

Sprite was her favourite pony at 'The Farm' where she rode as a teenager. He was a cheeky Exmoor pony who sometimes had his own ideas on how things should be done but carried Mum on many happy days, hunting, hacking and even I think the odd local show.  She had so many happy memories of this freedom to explore with her friends and the ponies and it contributed to her lifelong love of horses.

Cassie was my childhood pony, we were looking for a 13.2 that both Mum and I could ride but when a 12.2 Exmoor was advertised in the local paper Mum's happy memories of Sprite meant we had to take a look and there was Cassie. I tried him and he mainly did as he was told - and this continued to be the case throughout his life!  He loved jumping and flew round showjumping courses with me and later on tetrathlon cross country courses for Alex. He hated gymkhana but was ok with simple dressage tests.  Mostly we hacked out around the lanes and bridleways firstly Thorley and Bury Green, then Kings Cliffe. Many many happy hours with me on Cass and Mum on Harvey, and later with Alex riding Cass and me on Sam. Cassie lived with Mum as a companion to Blue into his 30's and other than once when he got kicked we never needed to call the vet for him.

More recently Mum loved having an adopted pony at Moorland Mousie, Exmoors are often overlooked and she appreciated what the charity is doing in helping save the foals and give them a useful life.
