How the Mournes saved me... 1 step at a time! ⛰️
At the start of this year, I hit rock bottom. I had no way out.
I could not life anymore nor did I want too. I was bullied. I was abused. I was controlled. I had lost my business and I had isolated myself away from the world as I couldn't fake the smiles any more.
I had a breakdown.
I attempted to kill myself and would have succeed if not found by an amazing lady who was an off duty police office and an amazing police man called Steven who said things to me that day that I repeat to myself daily now. Whilst standing over a bridge on the motorway they changed my life.
After getting alot of help and still continuing to do so. The next day was my day 1.
And I threw myself at the Mournes!! Good days, bad days, all kinds of weather. I've laughed up there, I've cried up there. And I don't want to even tell you about the amount of times I've got lost!! 🙈
But the mountains saved me. And that's why I am giving back!
After been so inspired by Ian Bailey I am everesting slieve donard which is 36 laps up and down slieve Donard from the saddle!
And this is going to be all for a good cause. I am going to raise money for the mourne mountain rescue team. I myself have needed there assistance via phone before. No one will ever know when or where they will need there help.
If you have a spare £1 please donate you would be surprised imagine the difference that could make to an charitable organisation!!
And also if any of you beautiful hikers are free on Saturday the 29th of May and want to do a lap with me... PLEASE!! 😂
