I am in my 50th year of living with Type 1 diabetes and my 7 year old granddaughter is in her 3rd year. It means everyday, adjusting the dose of insulin we inject for what we eat and when and how much we exercise. It is sometimes scary for us and those around us when our blood sugar levels are too low. When our blood sugar levels are too high it makes us feel ill and risks long term health complications.
The understanding of Type 1 diabetes, providing up to date information and the use of technology have all improved care but having Type 1 diabetes is still a daily challenge at home, school, work, at leisure and overnight.
JDRF fund Type 1 diabetes research to improve lives and one day eradicate the condition for good. This is what we all want! Your support will make this happen.
