Histon & Impington Ukraine Emergency Appeal · 4 March 2022

More than 10 million people have fled their homes to escape conflict in Ukraine. Leaving behind jobs, belongings and loved ones, they need shelter, food and water. Donate now.

Story

As someone lucky enough to live in Histon and Impington, and who knows people in Ukraine right now, either sheltering, as refugees or organising help for others, I wanted to find a way to help. So I am asking if this brilliant community could work together to raise money to directly help, and send a strong message of support to these amazing people suffering so much.

Every day I receive (and I know many others locally receive) messages, sharing harrowing stories of the situation. It's really tough. So, to the businesses, pubs, cafes, kind individuals, community groups and clubs of Histon and Impington - can we work our magic, work together and help raise some money to get humanitarian aid to Ukraine?

The DEC (Disasters Emergency Committee) are 15 charities with local partners are in Ukraine and neighbouring countries providing food, water, shelter and medical assistance. I have personally seen through my work, the impact of many of these organisations and specifically UNICEF locally. It's vital work. But it won't happen without funds raised by good people. The UK Government will match this appeal £ for £ (up to £20m), and every penny matters right now.

So, please can you give or raise what you can. It's unimaginable what is happening. I know we can make such a difference. Thank you so much
