Story

Hey guys

Thanks for taking the time to visit my page.

In November 2019 I will be taking on a 7 day challenge, trekking across the highest tea plantation in the world; Kolukkumalai. Walking approximately 12km a day which will take around 8 hours due to terrain and climbing significant altitudes, combined with camping in temperatures as low as 0 °C. This will be followed by two days volunteering in a children's cancer hospice in India, to help improve life for the patients and their families.

I will be doing this in memory of my beautiful and incredible Grandma José who passed away from cancer very unexpectedly over Christmas. Whilst she was in the hopsice I mentioned to her that I was looking in to doing the trek which is why it's become so important to me to complete it.

The wonderful staff at The Hospice of St Francis helped to shine a little light during a very difficult time, ensuring we all had a place to spend time together as a family. The work they do to help other families is truly inspiring and I hope that by taking part in this trek team 'Because Uber was busy' can help many others!

I'll be joined by my two fab friends Beckie & Emily, and together we make team 'Uber was busy'. We will be running multiple events, bake sales, runs etc over the next 11 months with lots of opportunity for you all to join in and ultimately help us reach our goal.

This is a cause very close to my heart and i'd like to thank all of you who have sponsored me and the girls! If you would like to visit our team page you can find it here: https://www.justgiving.com/companyteams/uber-was-busy
