Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

London to Brighton has been cancelled - We are now taking on a local 60 mile route, on the 12th September - finishing at the Saracens Head Pub.

Pete Thorpe the organiser has very close ties with the hospice, as his mum (Moira Thorpe) spent her final days in the care of the wonderful men and women who dedicate their lives to ensure one last smile graces the patients faces during end of life care.

Sadly, our original challenge - The London to Brighton Bike Ride has been cancelled due to Covid-19. This wont stop us! We are now planning a 60 mile ride locally, which will end at the Saracens Head Pub in Kings Langley.

The Saracens Head will host our arrival at ETA 14.30 on the day. We are planning a raffle, with over £1500 worth or prizes, a BBQ with all profits to the charity and a afternoon and evening of fund raising.

A huge thank you to the Saracens Head, Peter, Darren, Gavin and Nyles for supporting us.

Joining me is Ian, Jake , Warren and Mark - friends from Kings Langley. All of whom are keen to support the Hospice and the valuable work they do. We are teaming up to complete the 60 mile local route.

Pete Thorpe Riding for his mum Moira Thorpe - Moira passed away in Jan 2009 (50 Years) at the hospice, after spending over a year in the Royal Brompton Hospital suffering from the closing stages of Cystic Fibrosis. Mum was the first ever CF patient to arrive at the hospice, since then the Hospice has welcomed many more CF sufferers the chance to enjoy more comfort in their last days. Pete's wife Nikki, whose Nan (Rita Swales) also passed away last year here at the hospice.

From all five of us, especially Pete thank you for your donation to this amazing cause. Thanks to donations over the years our mums enjoyed a more comfortable end of life care, and your donation today will help people now and in the future.
