Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am walking from my home in Portesham in south Dorset to Barnstaple in north Devon, a distance of about 125 miles, in memory of my dear partner,
Jeany Poulsen
, who died of secondary breast cancer in February.
The walk over 14 days starting on May 14 also reflects my respect for the
Macmillan breastcare nurses at Dorset County Hospital, Dorchester
, who gave such wonderful care to Jeany when she was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011.
My journey will take me across Exmoor, with its happy memories of holidays with our daughter Zoe. After major surgery in 2012 as part of her cancer treatment, Jeany fulfilled her dream of walking to Dunkery Beacon, Exmoor’s highest point. I shall be remembering her courage and grace in the face of life-limiting illness as I revisit the extraordinary views from this beautiful vantage point.
I shall be remembering Jeany with some of her many friends, who will be joining me for parts of the walk.
If, like me, you admire the work of Macmillan and the care it gives to cancer sufferers like Jeany, then I would be most grateful if you could make a donation.
