We provide a lifetime of support to the wider Army Family.

Story

Stephen Buxton and myself are both ex REME soldiers' who are raising money in memory of our late friend, Captain Chris Butt AGC (ETS), who died in service. Chris had started his career in the REME as an Avionics Technician, becoming a WO1(ASM) and then commissioning in AGC(ETS). We are raising money for ABF Soldiers' Charity who provide vital support to soldiers, veterans and their families in times of need. For Life. Additionally we are raising money for St Helena Hospice, Colchester, who gave Chris such great care in his final days. We would like to share the money we raise equally between the two Charity's.

We will walking the Camino de Santiago (also known as the Camino St James), a distance of 483 miles (778km), from St Jean Pied de Port in France  to Santiago de Compostela, Spain. St James is by the way the Patron Saint of Soldiers'. Chris had always wanted to do the Camino de Santiago, so we thought it fitting to do it in his memory.

We start walking on 1st May 2022 and will finish on 9th June 2022. There are 33 stages, but as we are getting a bit long in the tooth, we have arranged a few rest days!
