Story
There seemed like no better way to celebrate my daughter Erins 18th birthday than to sign up for another round the clock 100km trek.
Clic Sargent gave my family much needed support and assistance when
we really needed a helping hand some 6+ years ago when Erin (that's her in the pic in June 2018) was
undergoing chemotherapy for her AML as well as after it, so this is my small thank you to
them. They made life bearable for all of us.
Children and their families dont ask for cancer to come into
their lives, so if you can spare the price of a few supermarket beers
or a takeaway coffee and a pastry, I'd be most grateful.
It's my second event and this time, instead of going it solo I will have the company of a my old Scouting friend and sterling individual Mouse Woodhouse for the journey. I cant think of anyone else better suited to the task, he's as mad as me but just a little younger!
The plan is to get to the Isle of Wight the day before, set up camp (more on that in the updates) then do the trek, sleep it off and return the day after with medals in hand, when we finally wake up...
